Painting - Oil On Canvas
I was at Java Hut in Encinitas Ca. giving my girlfriend the eye when a friend asked about my day. "I'm going to paint at Torrey Pines." I said. He replied "How are you going to paint in a storm?". I smiled and told him I still wasn't sure. Painting inside a van through a thunder storm is absolutely thrilling! The van rocked and swayed with the incredibly intense winds and then KaBOOM! KRAPOW!!! The lightning lit up the sky and the thunder echoed and amplified itself inside of the van. The rain beat against the ceiling and sides and soft focus blurs ran the landscape down the windows. KAPOW!!! WOooHO! When I finished painting the storm calmed and the sun came out. The horizon opened up and glittered across the water. Magical. Absolutely magical. I packed up quick and franticly. This night, my lady and I, had invitations to see Shibani Patnaik's - Sam Sara - The Cycle of Life. The oceans skirt continues to dance along.
