Description:

SUN BIRTH

Sun birth was conceived on the night of the “Nuit Blanche” all the basic elements were laid out then. Several months later the painting was eventually finished. The concept was based on the fact that it would be a long night of painting, which it was I painted from 7PM to 7AM enjoying every moment I might add. Lack of sleep and physical fatigue I knew would make the morning a bit of a hard one on the system, but a precious morning just the same, as all mornings should be.

Gold ingot like shapes were used to symbolize the sun coming out from a dark night sky creating a new day. Another days light was born regardless of whether of not I was ready for it. Thankful for precious new day yet savouring the everlasting memories of a magical night in Toronto this was one sun birth I would never forget. This painting is dedicated to all those wonderful individuals who turned out in the cold rain to celebrate the arts in this great city.
