Sunset On A Beautiful Winter Day In Galway Ireland

Photograph - Photo
It was mid-winter during my trip to Galway in late 2009 and early 2010, and for a change, I had a month to spend wherever I wanted. I had taken a quick bus trip around Ireland on a tour and even though we were only in Galway over night, I knew I wanted to return. There was something that the cold, wet night in winter couldn't hide about this city by the bay.
It was over a week later when I managed to get back to Galway, and this photo of The Long Walk was taken on that very first afternoon. This was without question the most beautiful sunset of the nearly two weeks I spent in and around Galway. I loved the warm golden hues that highlighted those seaside homes and even their reflections in the icy seawater! No matter how cold it was that day, I look at these pink and blue dusk skies and the warm glow of the setting sun on Galway and I feel warm.
If you've been to Galway, I'm sure you know how special it is and I hope this print captures it as you remember! If you've not been, what's keeping you?
