Sunset Over Montauk Lighthouse
On FAA WATERCOLOR MARK DOES NOT APPEAR ON FINAL SALESa cold day in February while out in Montauk, New York at the very eastern end of Long Island photographed this picture of the sun setting on the historical, landmark, Montauk Lighthouse and captured the ocean, new lighthouse to the left of the main Lighthouse along with the first building in front where tourist can go in and buy snacks and drinks and information about the Montauk Lighthouse. In addition, in between the main Montauk Lighthouse and the new Lighthouse is a small building where the men who work the lighthouses stay. The Montauk Point Light is a lighthouse located in Montauk Point State Park at the easternmost point of Long Island, in the Town of East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York. The lighthouse was the first to be built within the state of New York, and is currently the fourth oldest active lighthouse in the United States.
The Lighthouse is located on Turtle Hill at the easternmost tip on Long Island. The address of the lighthouse is 2000 Montauk Highway Montauk, NY 11954. Entry to the lighthouse costs $9.00 for an adult and $4.00 per child. Since the lighthouse is located inside Montauk Point State Park there is an $8 fee to park in the parking lot from 8 AM to 4 PM. However there is no charge for parking after 4 PM.
