Surreal Sun Face
Photograph - Fine Art Prints - Digital Art
A large Sunflower I grew in our garden in Colorado. That year we had at least a dozen that were 8 feet tall, their faces were at least a foot across...the Sunflowers were an amazing sight to see and a Photographers treasure....with the opportunity to capture them in their various stages of growth as well as from every angle. The sky of course was a magnificent background with clouds or no clouds or just a complete absence of color as in this rendition. I love Sunflowers, one of my favorite types of Flowers.....I titled this..."Surreal Sun Face", part of my Sunflower series... I hope you enjoyed it. I appreciate your viewing my work and hope you will experience all of what I have created and captured in my Galleries here....come back often, I add art and work daily. Please spread the word if you like my work and bookmark me please....Thank you!
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is an annual plant native to the Americas. It possesses a large inflorescence (flowering head), and its name is derived from the flower's shape and image, which is often used to depict the sun. The plant has a rough, hairy stem, broad, coarsely toothed, rough leaves and circular heads of flowers. The heads consist of many individual flowers which mature into seeds, often in the hundreds, on a receptacle base. From the Americas, sunflower seeds were brought to Europe in the 16th century, where, along with sunflower oil, they became a widespread cooking ingredient. Leaves of the sunflower can be used as cattle feed, while the stems contain a fiber which may be used in paper production....Sunflowers (original title, in French: Tournesols) are the subject of two series of still life paintings by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. The earlier series executed in Paris in 1887 gives the flowers lying on the ground, while the second set executed a year later in Arles shows bouquets of sunflowers in a vase. Vincent Van Gogh was know for his sunflower art...although this is no Van Gogh, it is Sunflower Art, by Barbara Chichester
