Swallow In Flight
Photograph - Photograph
Swallow. High-speed photograph of a swallow, Hirundo rustica, in flight. Swallows are seasonal visitors to the Northern Hemisphere, migrating long distances south in the winter. They breed in North America and Eurasia, building a mud bowl (nest) on the wall or roof of a building or cave. Swallows inhabit open country near water and are strong and accomplished fliers, spending much of their time airborne, feeding on flying insects.
