Description
Thrilled to announce that "Swing Me" tied for Second Place in the Fine Art America contest "Swingin' Into Summer" June 9th, 2018. My thanks to the contest admin Ellen Cannon and especially to everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!!
Nothing like a porch swing to bring back the memories ... all we need are glasses of iced tea and the gentle voices of our families, chatting away in the background.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
Image taken with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens at the Juniata Crossing Mercantile along route 30 between Breezewood and Bedford, Pennsylvania.

A wonderfully nostalgic composition, Lois! This old porch swing and the colorful afghan stir many fond memories... The rustic stone wall and charming window treatment give this quiet scene lots of personality! Love it!! L&F

Wonderful memory maker Lois! When I was growing up, my parents had a swing like this one on a covered porch that spanned the front of our home! It was a cool place to sit on hot summer days. Shaded from the sun, the swinging motion created a cooling breeze. On rainy days, we spent hours under the shelter of our covered porch, pretending it was a pirate ship. Standing on the swing, holding onto the chains, we imagined we were climbing high on the mast rigging during stormy weather on the high seas. Thanks for rekindling a childhood memory. L&F

Lois Bryan replied:
Hey Kae!! Thank you!!! Yes, there's nothing like an old fashioned swing ... and the squeak-squeak of the chain ... dozing off ... ahhh!!!
