Description:

FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILED PHOTOS OF THIS PIECE, PLEASE VISIT MY WEBSITE...AMBIENT VENICE JEWELRY@ WWW.VENICEBEADJEWELRY.COM This wonderful necklace is designed and crafted with three glorious, newly made Venetian Wedding Cake beads that I purchased from an importer of Venetian beads. Although these beads are new, they are exquisitely made in the traditional Venetian Wedding Cake bead style by crafting a 17 mm teal glass bead then layering the bead with multiple layers of molten colored glass, including white, fuchsia, yellow and gold glass. The center bead is approximately 17 mm round and each of the two side beads are approximately 15 mm. The fuchsia, gold, white, pink and teal glass layers form the traditional "forget-me-not" Wedding Cake bead pattern that is often seen in very old Venetian Wedding Cake beads. One outstanding aspect about this necklace is that the artisan layered and infused bands of 24K gold foil thoughout the wedding cake beads...yes, REAL gold foil layered throughout the beads! Traditionally, wedding cake beads have bands and swirls ofAventurina or copper thoughout...not gold! This necklace is very elegant! I added four perfectly matched, exact replica, Japanese Fin Bead crystals to this necklace, which enhance its Old World look! The history of fin beads and the precise nature of fin bead replication by Venetian beadmakers is featured in the book, "A Universal Aesthetic-Collectible Beads," by Robert K Liu. Additionally, each bead is highlighted with new, 6 mm or 8 mm, Swarovski crystals, in either true pink or smokey topaz. Finally, I hand knotted each and every bead, including the 4 mm, 14K gold-filled spacer beads with the highest quality, gold colored, Gudebrod FFF silk thread. Also, every large bead is capped with Vermeil, Florentine-style bead caps giving this incredible necklace a VERY antique, very Old World look and feel! This necklace measures 18" in length. It has a 14K gold-filled clasp but easily slips over the head.
