This bizarre 102m-high stainless-steel structure was built for the 1958 World Fair in Brussels and represents an iron molecule magnified 165 billion times. Its nine balls linked by columns are accessed inside by a series of precariously steep escalators and metal steps, and contain ‘50s furniture, various temporary exhibitions and a restaurant.
