Detail from Gary's last ride. I felt this area, that was part of the original 40' x 60' drawing told a story on it's own. Any good drawing or painting is made up of smaller parts that combine within the whole and plays a major role in acquiring the proficiency to force the artwork to key up and pop. " 'The Boot, the Rope, and the Cowbell,' are only the common tools used by the extreme sport of rodeo bullriders, and this drawing takes it all a step further in not only exposing the stress and aging marks of this harshly dangerous moment in bullriding but in it's ambiguity is of 'What is about to occur or already has occurred,' capturing the imagination of the viewer and it's all expressed with grace". - Benedict Argentina
