Description
With a history going back to 1876, the Bucket of Blood Saloon (as far as I could find out) was never the scene of any Wild West gunfights, but I'm thinking it didn't get its name because tipsy patrons settled arguments by tossing marshmallows at each other. What is fact though is the silver mines below Virginia City, in its mid-1860s heyday, were the largest of their type in the world, producing in 2012 dollars more than $10 billion worth of silver. Collectively the mines were known as the Comstock Lode.
