The Christking monument near the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador - Sanctuary of Sant Salvador - The 1342 monastery founded Sanctuary of Sant Salvador (Spanish: Santuario de San Salvador) is situated in 509 meters altitude on the mountain Puig Sant Salvador, the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, near the city Felanitx. The origins of the monastery of San Salvador can be traced back to the year 1348 and to King Pere IV of Aragon back, who gave the order for construction. The original pilgrimage church was built after a plague on the 509-meter high mountain of the same. Since this church was no longer up to the pilgrims, was established in 1715 the present church. 1885 the site was auctioned by the town of Felanitx. Until 1992, the monastery of monks was administered, since 1992 it is under the direction of two Majorcan family who run a restaurant and rooms for rent here.
