Description
The Clock at Grand Central byRregina Geoghan. A close up photograph of the clock in the concourse of Grand Central Station. This beautiful clock that sits atop the Information Booth in the main concourse of Grand Central Terminal, is known around the world as a famous NYC meeting place. It is also one of the most loved icons of the Terminal. The clock, made from brass, was designed by Henry Edward Bedford and cast in Waterbury Connecticut by the Seth Thomas clockmakers. There are four clock faces, made from opal (milk) glass, so that the time can be seen from various angles of the concourse. Each of the faces is about 24 inches in diameter. According to published reports, the famous clock is valued at between 10 and 20 million dollars.
