Description
The eye of the peacock. I first became familiar with this feather way back in the way back when I tied fishing flies for sport. The individual parts of the feather are used on one fly in particular, the Royal Wolfe. Wrapped around the hook and separated with a red floss it makes an excellent body for a dry fly. I have also (as have most photographers) the dramatic display of the bird itself in the mating dance of the tail feathers. Both the commonly scene green n blue n other colors of a normal bird. And the fully white peacock I saw at the Cape May County zoo a few years back. I like the contrast of the black and white of this feather and so here it is.
