( Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved ) Way back in 1921, Johnny Hauer opened The Dixie Tea Room in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky. Located at the end of the line for trolley cars to and from Cincinnati, it quickly became a popular place. A new owner in the 1930s renamed it The Greyhound Grill, to honor his brother who trained racing greyhounds in Florida. Now it is known as The Greyhound Tavern and it is more popular than ever for their southern-style home cooked meals. It is still located on the famous old north-south " Highway To Dixie" and on nice days you can enjoy some great food and southern hospitality on ... The Front Porch.
