George E Lee
Painting - Oil On Canvas
The 1913 wreck of the Glenesslin was a favorite subject for George E. Lee. He painted it multiple times in varying sizes and colors. The George E. Lee Collection has two of these paintings, this one in early afternoon with skies bright blue with contrasting dark, foreboding clouds, and a second, larger one with pinkish-orangish sunset hues, with the light coming from a different direction (interestingly, the wrong direction for a sunset). Viewers love the intricate detail of both paintings and for the first time they are both available for purchase through thegeorgeeleecollection.com at 50% of their 2004 professional appraisal.
