Great work Karin. I love the patterns of houses climbing up the hillside and the strong tonal contrasts. The figures on the road add interest and humanity. This painting has similarities with many of my works which were originally influenced by Klimt's landscapes http://www.flickr.com/photos/filmaz/206300660/ The colours and tonal contrasts of Trinidad seem similar to those of my own home town of Perth in Western Australia.

I've never painted, but I certainly can appreciate the vivid colors and excellent composition (the curving road in particular would be described by an old photography instructor of mine as "benevolent tension").
