Description:
This piece was commissioned by an associate of the surviving members and families of the VF-17 "Jolly Rogers". Initially the idea was a painting featuring Ike Kepford's plane however, upon discussion, we decided it would be a fitting tribute to the four surviving members of the saquadron if we included their airplanes too. (Sadly Jack Chasnoff passed away last month before I was able to finish the piece.) The pilots/aircraft featured in the painting are:
#29 - Ira "Ike" Kepford
#33 - Mel "Kurly" Kurlander
#39 - Bill "Country" Landreth
#20 - Jack Chasnoff
#8 - Robert "Hal" Jackson
There is a limited edition offering of 45 prints. They are being sold fully matted with the signatures of Ira "Ike" Kepford (donated by Mrs. Kaepford), Mel "Kurly" Kurlander, Bill "Country" Landreth. Prints are $500 and available through www.markkarvon.com.
