I am so moved by your writing here Gina; I now have an ache in the pit of my stomach - no worries though....I really admire you my friend, a woman of many talents ....this reminded me of when my neighbor slaughters one of her animals for food....done in a shed much like this one, but the difference is that she does it for survival and wastes glad that you shared this..xoxo jd

The title caught my attention so did the artwork.......the story really caught my attention!! I could not live there!! and watch or even listen...I am too close to animals!! Excellent work, moving, thought provoking and you got my vote!!

This is a beautiful piece of art, but your story has the real message! Life is too precious to be destroyed, just because someone thinks the "quality" doesn't conform to THEIR standards of worth. Your interpretation of this photo gave it the sense of doom and horror that I felt when I first saw it...... Joan

Thank you, Joan, I appreciate that you made the connection. When I finished panting this several days ago I couldn't get the title "The Killing Shed" out of my mind. I never felt like posting it though, and now I realize the poem was bubbling in my subconscious and I was waiting for that.
