Beautiful structure, timeless captured mood, beautiful work Lenore and Dawn!

My cousins went to a one room school house that looked just like this but it was set in an orange orchard about 20 miles from where I lived, in the San Joaquin Valley, in CA. They road their horses to school. I wish I had photographed it way back then! Nicely done, Lenore and Dawn. V/F

Wonderful collaborative work! vf

Wonderful capture of an old school house, you can imagine all the children over the years running in and out of it. I also like how some of the windows match the grass, and some match the sky. Beautiful image! vf

Awesome Lenore!!!! V/F

This wonderful old school house looks so happy in its colorful surrounding, Lenore. Nice textures too. V&F

So sunny and joyful, Lenore! Excellent rendering!

Wonderful take Lenore! Love the detail and the highlights! I can't imagine riding horses to school ;) ...I lived in the country but we always had a bus ;) ...two rooms for each grade so a bit bigger then this :) v/f/ and fb!

Great capture and colors are awesome!!

I love what you did here Lenore. These old places are so special. V/F

How did I miss this?????????? Oh wow, Lenore, I adore this. The rich, warm color is just divine. Love your treatment here. F/V

Lenore, what a lot of interesting character there is in this building - brought out nicely by your processing. Loved Dawn's story about the teacher! voted

I can't resist old buildings and this image shows it all - love it!

Wow, this beautiful, love the rich yellow and the feeling to the piece, Great work!! F/V

what a fantastic old log school house, you've made it come alive Lenore, and those wonderful old cedar shakes falling off the roof are great, Dawns story is amusing, imagine riding your pony to school... I used to ride my bike, my grandkids drive their cars, the next generation may just be beamed into the classroom..I just as soon go back to the horse and cart days...v/f

What a wonderful nostalgic glow you have given to this photo! Beautiful! This school was too far for the surrounding ranch kids to ride horseback to in the winter, so classes were held in the summer. I sure feel sorry for the teacher having to keep the children focused on their lessons with cowboys breaking horses right outside the windows, teams being driven by, and all kinds of other distractions. One of the teachers was unfortunate enough to accompany the kids to play in a nearby haystack, only to have one of the ornery older boys tie her up and all the kids leave her there. They all went back to the schoolhouse and commenced school on their own. A couple of hours later the teacher got herself loose and marched inside, mad as all get out! The way you've presented this picture sure gives a sense of the character of this place!

Beautiful and nostalgic photo! Can see the children, long ago. Think of the series Little House on the Prairie.

So Lovery Cute and Romantic ,Feature and Fav.

A perfect "House of the Prairie"....to think that is there as a tribute for all the country teachers, devoted to Life and Knowledge. Rosa

Beautifully done .... a great collaboration! v/f

I like this!
