The Parlor was built in 1908 by Charles J. Tual, an architect, as a present for his wife. In 1960, the Parlor was purchased by the Howell family and operated as a funeral parlor for a brief period of time. The funeral of the current owners’ great-grandfather, W.L. Cofer, was held at the Parlor.
It is currently operating as a Bed and Breakfast and is one of the best known in the state of Missouri. Part of its fame is due to the numerous reported paranormal events and occurrences that are supposed to happen in association with the house. It is part of the Ghost Haunters Website ~ http://www.ghosthaunters.com/index.php?pr=The_Parlor
