"The Rose' felted art is inspired by the song and the 1979 movie;"The Rose". In this piece there is a river & in the song-"some say love it is a river" & the lyrics also say "love is a hunger" but also like the song lyrics say: " I say love it is a flower and you its only seed...& the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live...then just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows, lies the seed that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes "The Rose". This piece attempts to prepare the viewer for 'joie de vivre' or the literal French translation: joy of living'. For, in life, we live, we laugh & we love & when there is a winter in our lives it will pass and the light will shine and bring us: "The Rose".
