I stopped to visit with an old rancher who was shoeing a horse when I noticed this saddle on the fence. I was told that it belonged to his grandfather who had it handmade in Wyoming in the 1930's. His father, himself, two sons and now his own grandsons all use it. "Five generations of my families asses have plopped down in that sucker", he proudly proclaimed in his best cowboy drawl. It was one of those mornings that I cherished because I chose to stop instead of driving by.
