This one made me smile. I used to fish with my Uncle in the early morning hours. He told me that I had to be quiet or I would scare off the fish. We would watch the sunrise in quiet comanionship. I remember the anticipation of that first catch. Great capture. f/v

Of course, Kay, you know that if you catch a big one and spent lots of time playing it and reeling it in, it also can be lost in the last 8 seconds! LOL Nice imagery and love the silhouetting of the figures and surroundings. voted I have to agree, as when looking at it, and listening to the announcers, the only ones that truly believe this happened were the inadequate field officials! Oh well!

Description:

Along the Lake Michigan shores, early any fall morning you will find all the salmon fishermen and women. Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes of North America and the only one located entirely within the United States. The other four Great Lakes are shared by the US and Canada. It is the second largest of the Great Lakes by volume[1] and the third largest by surface area, after Lake Superior and Lake Huron (and is slightly smaller than the U.S. state of West Virginia). To the east, its basin is conjoined with that of Lake Huron through the wide Straits of Mackinac, giving it the same surface elevation as its easterly counterpart. Lake Michigan is bounded, from west to east, by the U.S. states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. The word "Michigan" originally referred to the lake itself, and is believed to come from the Ojibwa word mishigami meaning "great water". Lake Michigan is the only one of the Great Lakes wholly within the borders of the United States; the others are shared with Canada. It has a surface area of 22,400 square miles (58,000 km2),making it the largest lake entirely within one country by surface area (Lake Baikal, in Russia, is larger by water volume), and the fifth largest lake in the world. It is 307 miles (494 km) long by 118 miles (190 km) wide with a shoreline 1,640 miles (2,640 km) long. The lake's average depth is 46 fathoms 3 feet (279 ft; 85 m), while its greatest depth is 153 fathoms 5 feet (923 ft; 281 m).[2][8] It contains a volume of 1,180 cubic miles (4,918 km³) of water. Its surface averages 577 feet (176 m)[2] above sea level, the same as Lake Huron, to which it is connected through the Straits of Mackinac.
