Along an old winding road, a gnarled and twisted tree stands. Its pronounced silhouette tells its story of the passage of time and beauty in things often overlooked. The wispy, transparent clouds have a spiritual, other worldly presence, inviting us to reflect on the presence of God, heaven and things to come.

Trees such as this one invite me to contemplate the continuity of the stream of life. I like the way the branches lead the viewer's eye out of the painting, leaving that which isn't shown to the imagination. Awesome!
Rand Burns replied:
I am so glad this painting invited you in. Thank you for your kind words Anne. I always appreciate you.

The spirit is there, in the clouds and the old tree. The clouds represent renewal to me and the new tree will be soon to come. Well done Randy.

Revisiting Randy, this reminds me of a tree in Maryland that I have photographed a bunch of times...not the same of course but the memory is pulled out of the back of my head. Well done of course my friend.
Rand Burns replied:
Thank you for the revisit and sharing your memories of a tree in Maryland that you photographed. I often see images you capture that remind me of here as well.

What marvelous light you have in this scene, Randy! I absolutely love to see these old bare-limbed trees! They're such a beautiful study of the twists and turns in nature...for them and us! Love that there is but a single road winding thru the scene, leading us to that heavenly resting place with God! Love this! L/F
Rand Burns replied:
Marian, thank you very much for your visiting this lone tree, which is a place from memory and not too far from where I live. I am glad you connect with these spiritual paintings and enjoy your kind words about them. Thank you for the F/L here.

Randy, your art is certainly wonderful but you tie it into what we deal with every day if one thinks about it. Yes, you captured the scene but you also captured the meaning to the scene. Perfect my friend.
Rand Burns replied:
Skip, thank you for letting me know you read our daily lives into my work. I appreciate your expressing this through your comment and glad you feel you can relate so well.
