The Three Graces
Carrie Joy Byrnes
Painting - Acrylic Fresco On Canvas
This is a print of a painting that I did in the fresco tradition. My homage to Raphael's Three Graces. The original was laid into wet plaster as many of the masters painted like this. It gives great depth to the painting. Raphael was also a forerunner in contraposto, shown here...which is the way the figures legs and feet are moving. It's a dance....stepping and movement and not as easy to draw as you might think! Hope you enjoy this, it's one of my favorites. I have Raphael's print hanging in my dining room.
