Hi Frances.....yes, have you lived here too? Thanks so much - it's like no other medium really, as all the equipment and techniques are unique to encaustics. Mind you, I do use tiny wire brushes too, in much the same way as painting normally.....

Thanks so much Karin.......love your work too....was just looking at your fallen leaf photos......so pretty. Where in UK did you live? With encaustics.....you melt wax on tiny irons and other tools that look like soldering irons, when it's melted you paint onto special non-absorbent card...... My brother says it's like trying to paint watercolours, but with boxing gloves on lol.....
