Painting - Pastel On Strathmore Velvet Gray Charcoal Paper
I first spotted this tulip in the very early spring when they were first blooming. One of the first to bloom while the others still tucked away, this one screamed for attention as if it wanted to hog the camera. I thought this tulip was one of the most perfect tulips to bloom. The background was very simple black which I liked and gave me a change to really make it pop against the very vibrant contrasting colors in the flower. I like to use Rembrandt pastel sticks and CarbOthello pastel pencils on Strathmore Velvet Charcoal Paper.
