This photo of the clock tower at the University of Concepcion, Chile stand upward tall in the blue sky of Summer. Some people venture to the top platform for a special view of the University area. Below this clock tower is an open forum that features many important events and near is the famous sculpture made to honor Enrique Molina Garmendia who was the first rector and also founded the University. The University is the oldest in the city of Concepcion and was founded on 14 May, 1919. At the forum their are many events year round that feature Plays, Singers, and Dancers that display the many cultures of Chilean folk life and of South American folk and cultures. On a given Saturday or Sunday there are large groups of visitors taking photos and even walking their dogs. Some times newly weds come here to visit the nearby lake and many beautiful flowers to have there photos taken. I took this wide angle photo with a Konica Minolta 5D digital camera using a 18-35mm f3.5 Sigma lens and used Adobe Photoshop to enhance the beautiful clear blue sky.
