Painting - Egg Tempera
This painting is about the surgery I went through in 2003. The surgery was to remove a vein that was bleeding in my lung. I had always loved Frida's paintings, and during the hospital stay I kept thinking about Frida and what she went through. I felt like she was watching over me in the hospital, and when I got out of the hospital and recovered enough (The surgery left me with chronic pain on the left side of my body) I painted this painting.
