Nicely done. I like your processing very much Jim. The DOF is just right for this picture making it so very credible. It has the quality of a book illustration about the period. My initial reaction did not include the possibility that it was from a reenactment. I thought it was from a film on the subject. voted, favorite

Description

Reenactment scene from the "Battle of Wyoming" that took place in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania July 03 1778 . The Iroquois were and still are , not a single tribe of American Indians but an association of six tribes that formed the Iroquois League. The league or confedercy came into being between the years 1400 and 1600, and was highly influential in America in the years leading up to the American Revolution, in which they played an important and complex role.
Our American Revolution was nothing short of a disaster for the Iroquois. Their confederacy refused to take part in the conflict but allowed each tribe to decide for itself. All tribes but the Oneida joined the British.A Protestant minister was mainly responsible for convincing the Oneida tribe to join the Colonists after two years of maintaining neutrality.
During the war the Iroquois land was devastated and the population of the tribes was reduced by more than half.
After the war a powerless Iroquois nation were further pushed out of country by worthless treaties and made their way to Canada where their loyalty to the British was rewarded with large amounts of land.
