When my nephew and his bride to be told me their wedding colors were going to be tangerine and fuchsia, I could not imagine what that would look like. All I could think of was hot pink and orange....eww! They assured me that those two color combinations would be beautiful together....in the bridesmaids dresses, the basic colors used in the wedding ceremony and reception, and the wedding flowers.
Much to my delight, in my personal opinion, they had the prettiest wedding flowers I have EVER seen! And the best florists! Their florists put together some of the most imaginative and gorgeous floral arrangements!! Some of the arrangements had tangerines, oranges and other fruits mixed in or in the crystal vases they used. They had the most unusual flowers carrying out the color combinations. They were the topic of conversation, besides how stunning the bride looked!
It is said that Wedding Flowers are one of the most photographed things of the entire wedding experience, besides the bride. They were. Wedding flowers and bouquets are a huge industry, selling millions of flowers every year to anxious brides to be....each hoping their flowers will make an impression and will beautify their special day and be remembered. Well I definitely believe their flowers did just that!
This shot I took at the reception is actually of a bridesmaid's bouquet that she laid on the table for me to be able to photograph. The bridesmaid dresses were a beautiful fuchsia with wide tangerine sashes around their waists. These gorgeous bouquets of various fresh flowers in the matching colors that they carried just popped! They complimented the dresses the ladies wore and were amazing. I am so glad I took special photographs just of the flowers themselves. The photos captured the moment beautifully.
For me, this photo of "The Wedding Flowers", every time I see it, brings back memories of the most beautiful flowers that were all over the wedding venue that day!
My nephew and his bride have been married a couple of years now, but still to this day, every time I see these colors together, and it has been often since then, I think of that beautiful day. I think of how those unlikely color combinations were the talk of the day. And every time I see them I think of the love that shone so brightly in my nephew's eyes that whole day....and still does today! And that was NOT just the wedding flowers!
