Time Stood Still

Old homestead cabin in the Shasta Valley in northern California. The gloomy winter sky adds drama to the scene where you can almost imagine the ghosts of pioneers and their hard life in this unforgiving landscape. The barbed wire fence in the foreground still stands as a symbol of the harsh conditions and toil required to survive in the old west. Many seasons have come and gone since this cabin was built, and even since it was last occupied, but it remains as a reminder of how life was out here in the not so distant past. If only this old cabin could talk, what stories it might tell of the people who lived here and worked the land. The original American Dream.
