Description:

Sometimes I paint ideas rather than specific places. Here I was trying to show that we're all related to each other. I wanted it to be totally inclusive, so I have all races, both sexes, and adults and children. I thought that by just showing hands and arms, I could abstract communal aid; everyone helping each other. My composition forms diagonals that draw your eye to the ring on the woman's hand. That's the crux of my painting: that love is the key to life.
