Todays Weather Sunny But Strong Chance Of A Water Spout Or Two
Photograph - Photography
Copyright Warning Do Not Alter My Photographer Notes: This amazing site was taken in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana. The sun was coming up and a front was moving through. I was on a platform at the time with my tele photo lens. We new thunder storms were around us and the rain shield was so thick it blocked the actually sun from shining through. The second water spout did not quite form. The large one was active for about 20 minutes or so.I have seen quite a few water spouts. Once we even flew around one in a helicopter I was in. They are amazing sites to be seen. Conditions must be exact for water spouts to form. I used my 250 telephoto lens on auto exposure 400 asa. Because the cloud top foreground and overhead was so dense it blacked the Gulf and I did enhance the photo density to control the brilliant glare of the sun behind the rain shield.
