Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
" The sunlight leaks through the clusters of trees across a stream to settle on the plants lining the front bank. "
On one bright early summer day, I walked around Toronto Island all the way from the west to the east, making sketches of trees, plants, flowers and the lake. Often I was impressed by the views of the sharp evening sunlight coming through the trees and the way it was interweaving between the leaves. The effect become even more pronounced as the sun slowly went down. I was lingering on the island and I kept making sketches of the light in the trees. I ended up being on the island all day.
Toronto Island is a large man-made park located on Lake Ontario near Toronto Harbour. It is one of the most popular places to visit in Toronto. Every summer, the ferry booth has huge line-ups consisting of local youngsters and tourists. This Island also provides a residence for many local artists and has its own special atmosphere.
