Tough Men Of The Old West
Portrait taken early 1880's of a group of friends, a few of them notable. Most of them appear to be smoking cigars. A Victorian watch fob and chain is visible on many near the waistline. Hats and facial hair were clearly in vogue. Their expressions give the impression that they meant business. And, the bulging jackets at the waist probably indicates they are heavily armed.
