Description
Long late-afternoon shadows are cast on Thoor Ballylee, the Norman tower, where Irish poet, William Butler Yeats lived for 12 years with his wife, George, and their two children. It is located near the village of Gort, County Galway, Ireland.
He once said: "To leave here is to leave beauty behind", and in a letter to Olivia Shakespeare he wrote: "We are in our Tower and I am writing poetry as I always do here, and, as always happens, no matter how I begin, it becomes love poetry before I am finished with it"
