Description
This is my brother-in-law's yellow lab. He was working with him early one morning in late summer, getting the lab ready for the upcoming hunting season. The 'duck' in the painting is an actual decoy or training dummy used to train the dog in retrieving. No ducks were harmed in the making of this painting...!

You have really captured this dog!!! His intent to please his owner!!! Great!!! Love the movement of the water!!! Nice palette!

Submerged objects showing through the reflected sky on the surface of a duck pond combines representational painting skills with abstraction. Add a big black nose, sparkling eyes, and cold water splashing on the furry brow of a bird dog portrayed with meticulously fine brushwork that shimmers with the exuberance of a Labrador Retriever and, voila - a masterwork!
