Oh, My. JW! What a striking and stirring painting, the colors so harmonic, and the images brought together against a perfect sky for projecting the figure out toward us! I like most all of your work, and have for some time, but this really strikes me right now as my favorite by far. It holds me hypnotically. Someone might say that I "bond" with it (they'd also say "Awesome"!) I also realy appreciate your brief note that tells so much -- so much I did not know. I appreciate also your biography stating values and beliefs. I admire your aspirations -- that's not the right word -- but though our lives are struggles and journies not fixed goals nor achievements at the end of a trip, still there must, I would think, be ideals that guide us, perhaps moving, growing ideas toward which we labor and learn, realigning with them as they move and we move. I believe art is about communication - the old adage; "A picture is worth a thousand words" suggests art in the form of painting to be a very effective way of communicating a concept, an idea or for my part - a story - in the same spirit of the Story-Teller in Native American culture, I like to think I am adding my own interpretation of the story with these works, and the small "descriptions" (stories) with each painting to make the 'telling' more complete and hopefully more interesting and possibly even inspiring - in this way I fulfill my purpose to what I believe an Artist's purpose to be...
