Description:

The whole Tree of Life concept is one that frequently recurs in my dreams and my work- the Tree of Life, Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, Yggdrasil, what have you. For me it symbolizes strength and protection, but with a questing, searching element as well. The focus of this piece was more on the bottom- the trailing, rootlike effect.

Isn't Yggdrasil a great word? It roughly translates as "frightful horse" and I suppose as a title for the earth as it was thought to be, it is not entirely misleading. In fact, it's not too misleading now. A flying tree will always make a great image and this is a great image. I like the way it carries enough earth around with it to live on. Lovely stuff.
