Trilobite Fossil And Labradorite Pendant Tril22
Photograph - Trilobite Fossil, Labradorite Bead & Sterling Silver-filled Wire
Trilobites were among the earliest animals to appear on Earth and now you can wear this exquisite piece of natural history, and carry it with you, wherever you go.
This fossil was wrapped in 0.925 Sterling silver-filled wire and suspended on an 18"-long silver-plated chain (adjustable braided black leather cord may be substituted for the chain upon request). The bail was woven by-hand to mimic the segmentation of the organism and a flashy labradorite bead was set in a wire whorl at it's base. The whole pendant, base to bail, measures 46x28x15mm (1.8" x 1.1" x 0.6") and unlike most fossils used in jewelry, this one has intact "cheeks" (librigena) and a perfectly preserved (unbroken) spine.
The original mortality plate from which this fossil was extracted, came from the Wheeler Shale, located in Millard County, near Antelope Springs, Utah. Trilobites disappeared from the face of the Earth in a mass extinction that occurred approximately 250 million years, just prior to the rise of the earliest dinosaurs in the fossil record. Trilobites evolved on Earth approximately 540 million years ago.
Your pendant will arrive in a lovely gift box and ship safely in a secure bubble envelope with tracking direct from my studio to your chosen destination. Makes a great gift for someone special, or splurge for yourself. This is a one-of-a-kind item!
