An absolutely fascinating ... may I say even haunting ... capture. The expression of deep concern on such a little face is riveting to any parent. But I think it's the optical illusion of seeing the way the eyes on the image to the left seem to be seeing something at a great distance and somewhat down, whereas the image on the right seems to be looking directly at the girl on the left and slightly up, is what is so mesmerizing. I'm in awe!!!!! l/f and tweeted

Michel Verhoef replied:

Hiii Lois ! long time no see !!! Your comments makes me happy. Another vantage point here...thanks a million !

A beautiful portrait of a very pretty little girl! Outstanding V/F In answer to your question, Michael. Yes, I married a very handsome and funny (Comedic) man when I had just turned 19 and he was an "older" 21. He is half German (from his Dad's side) and 1/2 Norwegian (on his mother's side). We really mixed up our 3 beautiful children's heritage when we got married. I believe there is a little bit of Scottish, also, from each of our sides. Our youngest daughter who resembles this beautiful little girl, and has blond hair and blue eyes, married a lovely man who is also half German also. It's a good thing both men have a good sense of humor. ;-)

Outstanding. I am impressed because of the very inner facial expression. The colors are very soft Her eyes wander into deep. A feeling like meeting phantasy on the top! Congratulate to this portrait work!

Michel Verhoef replied:

Thanks Nifri for adding the phantasy thought to it..nobody did before :)

I'm in awe that someone of your talent even find the time to comment on one of mine. You have a lot of amazing pieces but I just choose this one to comment on as I find this photo so interesting and "intriguing" :) I would like to ask your permission to draw this but I think a photo, "your photography", will capture this moment better ;)

Michel Verhoef replied:

Thanks Ann for your kind words. "Everyone" who posts here has legitimate art and should be appreciated and needs support ! We should never forget this :))) You can draw this image if you wish and would appreciate if you link it back to this one. Thanks again Ann !!

Thank you very much Kimber for liking my work !

Papillion, NE - United States

This is a beautiful capture of this little girl. Your work is amazing.

Zoetermeer - Netherlands

In expositions of paintings the title is tiny and people can choose not to view it, unfortunately here it's not possible. No title at all is no option for me. Your imagination should be strong enough to surpass the presence of it, which you did, since you imagined something else already :) thanks for your comments.

Columbus, OH - United States

Fine piece. I would prefer not knowing the titles. It takes away from the mystery. Take away the title and the viewer becomes the author of the title. The viewer is as important as the artist. This photo says far more tha "Twins"

Waipukurau, CH - New Zealand

Wonderful!

Thanks a lot Maria and Joyce for your kind thoughts ! :)

Michel, this is extraordinary work; she seems so intense, obviously focused on something...I just want to hug her and assure her that "it will be ok".....this image tears at my heartstrings and at the same time is so wonderful - I see by your tags that she is looking into an aquarium....excellent work! Joyce
