Before computers and word processors, there was the typewriter. Many people do not know this, but it was due to Typewriter Salesman, that the keybord is layout has become known as the "QWERTY" keyboard. Due to the keys of each row bring at different heights, the salesmen found that it was easier to demo a typewriter if they could spell "Typewriter" all on the same row. Thus, the keys were configured that Salesmen could type the word Typewriter in one row making them appear to type faster. They could have never foreseen how that keyboard layout would be a worldwide standard for English keyboards. As Paul Harvey says, "And now you know... the rest of the story!"
