Gaylord is an unincorporated community in northern Clarke County, Virginia, USA. Gaylord is located on Lord Fairfax Highway (U.S. Route 340). The community had its own post office in operation from 1880 to 1956. This is the original post office in Gaylord shaded by a giant sycamore tree and surrounded by two fields of horses. The door has been chained closed and the windows covered because of the intrusion of vandals, but it is in pretty good shape considering that it is 133 years old.
