Painting - Watercolor On 140# Arches Paper
"Unfolding Rose" is available at FAA as greeting cards (you can create your own verse on the inside), canvas prints, acrylic prints or giclee prints; framed or unframed; select "Buy Now" to view, peruse the galleries, or buy. Put this link on your watch list. Roses have many petals and are one of the more difficult flowers to paint because of that--many shapes, much shading, a lot of lights to pay careful attention to. This closeup was so appealing that it begged to be painted. It was one of the most delightful subjects to draw, paint, texturize. Although it took many hours to complete, it was satisfyingly worth it.
The ORIGINAL was produced with a limited palette of professional Winsor Newton lightfast transparent pigments on fine Arches 140# CP linen paper which in turn assures that the colors will remain bright with very little to no fading over the years, the colors remain luminous, and the linen paper does not yellow = A LASTING QUALITY ARCHIVAL TREASURE. Reproductions are available here.
