Description
The Eagle Shirt Factory was built in Bordentown, NJ for William Flynn in 1882. Jacob Miller and Sons, a clothing manufacturer out of Philadelphia, occupied the factory beginning in 1883. In 1886, Flynn sold the building to the Millers. The first addition was added in 1890. By 1901, the factory employed over 250 Bordentown residents, most of which were seamstresses. In 1924, the factory was sold and became the Union Overall Mfg Company and in 1950, Union Pants Mfg. It changed hands once again and became the Crescent Sportswear Mfg (year unknown). It ceased all operations in 1980 after a fire. An application has been made to place this building on the National Register of Historic Places.
