Union Station Light Fixture

This space is so incredibly beautiful it literally takes my breathe away. I long to live in a time when public spaces were designed to be grand and awe inspiring. Union Station in Los Angeles is such a place.
The station opened in May of 1939 and served trains from the Union Pacific, Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railways. Built on a grand scale, Union Station became known as the "Last of the Great Railway Stations." Here you can see why. This beautifully stenciled ceiling and magnificent light fixture and just a tiny bit of the architectural brilliance that is Union Station. We are all so lucky it still stands.
It's funny...once you've visited a space like this you soon realize Hollywood loves it too. I've recognized the location in many movies and commercials, and why not, it's a one-of-a-kind space and it would take millions of dollars to recreate a Hollywood set in its likeness.
