Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
This work was in progress for almost a year as its subject slowly came together in my studio in September of 2012. The abstract is a city street painting and the subjects are heavily obscured as they contrast with the beauty of the city color and the reflections that are created from the wet pavement. The piece is warm and the colors are inviting.
The painting is varnished in a high-gloss UV varnish and the paint on the canvas is thick with deep ridges. Although it is an acrylic painting, it looks very much like that of an oil painting and very hard to tell the difference. The "impasto" texture of the piece adds to the overall effect of this abstract.
This piece is 26-inhces high and 34-inches wide. It will need to be professionally framed, as the canvas is not square. Do not confuse this with damage to the painting. As often times happens, when canvas is being painted with thick paint and wet conditions, the piece will sometimes dry "out of square" The canvas itself is older than the painting, so there will be no additional settling of the piece. The sides are not painted to match the art.
This piece will come to you framed and ready to hang. The frame is wood, 3/4-inch wide on the front with rounded edges and 1-1/4-inch deep on the sides. The frame is painted in high gloss black, it is square and is complete with a back dust cover and hanging hardware installed, ready to be placed on the wall. The frame is a wonderful addition to this piece. I will be happy to send you additional pictures upon request, contact me and we can discuss this further.
Thanks for looking!
