Utensils - Colonial Kitchen
Photograph - Hdr Photography
In colonial times, kitchens were often hot and crowded. A large fireplace was in the center, and it was used to cook, simmer and even wash clothes, toasting irons were set near by and there was always a flurry of activity. Spices and foods collected from the fields that day, hanging and drying. Nothing like today's kitchen where the only natural thing you have is the pop-tart bush outside.
